This morning while I was running on the treadmill, I was reading an article that I loved and thought I would share.
Most days, my clients ask me why they aren't losing weight or why a diet they tried worked but then failed?
Well, I will tell you a fad diet sets you up for FAILURE! Sad but true. Everyone wants a quick fix, so they immediately jump into the newest diet....paleo, Atkins, the whole 30, Mediterranean, etc. BUT......are any of these diets something that you can maintain for the rest of your life? Not likely.
You need to make a lifestyle change rather than fad diet. Pick healthy foods that you can maintain for your whole life. The minute Atkins dieters go off, they crave carbs and gain their weight back and usually more! What happens after the 30 days are up for the whole 30? Fad diets don't work....sorry....they just don't.
So, when your looking in the mirror or stepping on the scale and don't like what you see, don't go running to google or the book store to read up on the latest quick fix; go to the super market and shop the perimeter rather than the isles and make a lifestyle change rather than fad dieting. Just my advice.
