Hey Fit Readers!
Today I want to talk about the importance of your core....what is your core? Your core is the center of your body. Some people may think it is just your abs, but really, your core is made up of your back, abs, glutes, and even the upper part of your legs. Did you know that 26 muscles attach to your core? Yes, that's right. All the muscles on the front, back and sides of your legs and waist are working the core.
In my experience training, I have had a lot of marathon runners and triathletes. What do you think their number one complaint is? "My lower back hurts!" The reason so many racers have this problem is because the focus so much on the race itself but neglect their core. That's right! They forget to do abdominal and lower back exercises to strengthen those muscles. Don't forget to work ALL of your muscles!
I hope YOU remember your crunches and superman back exercises today! Remember, the opposing muscles work together, so strengthening them both will keep you strong!
Stay fit friends!
