Hi fit fans!
From kickboxing to birth? What does that mean!? Well, I'll tell you! At 39 weeks pregnant, my water broke at 12:15 pm on June 25th.
I had an average day of teaching spinning and sculpting from 6-7am, trained clients from 8-12pm, and then taught kickboxing at 12:15pm....yes, my water broke while I was teaching kickboxing. It was not a gush or even a sprinkle. I actually couldn't figure out if it was my water breaking or not....so I just kept teaching my class to the end. Jumping jacks, punches, kicks, even burpees!
I left work that day at 1:15, went to lunch a Cafe Express, stopped at Target to get Fit Baby Boy a toy, picked him up at school, and went to the Children's Museum. Yes, I did all of these things not quite knowing if my water broke but I did keep thinking "my tennis skirt is wet. Did my water break?"
At 4:45, I told my friend who we were at the children's museum with to please watch Tyler for a few minutes while I go call the doctor. I explained my circumstances to the nurse, and she immediately said "get to the hospital!"
I called my husband and calmy told him to please pack a bag and that Fit Baby Boy and I would be home as soon as we could make our way through the 5 o'clock traffic. He packed, got the car ready, and even threw the infant car seat in just in case.
Around 6:00, I called the hospital to let them know we were on the way...they said "is this Katy Pyle? We've been waiting on you for an hour!" Oops:)
By 6:30 I was checked in and definitely "in labor" and that trickle at 12:15 was definitely my water breaking.
So there you have it! From kickboxing to birth....well I'll tell you the birth part next...Stay tuned!
And stay fit! xo Fit Mom
