Happy Monday Fit Readers!
It's now the middle of March, Spring Break has come and gone, and you may notice your gym starting to clear out with those that joined in January. Every year the gyms are packed in early January and as weeks and months pass its back to the regular crew. A few dedicated resoluters will continue and it's great when you notice the ones that have put their mind to weight loss and exercise! As a personal trainer, I feel like I'm always preaching to my clients, "it's 80/20.....80% diet and 20% working out". So many people think just joining a gym will make your waist line drop....wrong! It's hard work all day, everyday...even on the weekends!
I have been so excited to write this blog but have been waiting for the right time. On the evening of December 25th, my husband said, "I have one more gift for you." I thought....what could it be?? He said, "starting January 5th, you have 60 days to whip me into shape. You can train me, give me nutrition advice, basically whatever you want for 60 days." I thought.....ok, this is going to be fun but challenging at the same time....I also thought....he's NOT going to like this!
So, Monday, January 5th rolled around. There was no more drinking during the week, very healthy, high protein meals and snacks, and of course 5 workouts a week! Pretty simple, right!?😜
He joined the gym down the street and has really enjoyed his workouts. I pack lunches and snacks everyday for him to take to work so he's not tempted to go out. We have enjoyed cooking new chicken and fish recipes with loads of veggies. After the first few weeks he had a few quotes that I found funny "I feel better than I have in my life" "I actually like going to the gym" "I love roasted veggies" "I think I could go the rest of my life without Brussels sprouts".....oops I may have over done the sprouts but at least he feels good and is enjoying the gym!
And drum roll please.....this guy in 60 days lost 17 pounds! I am a proud wife and trainer!
Now that 60 days is up, he is still eating healthy and working out! Here's to another 60 plus days of living the good and healthy life!
