Hi Fit Friends,
Well the time has mostly slipped away from me....it's already February and I just haven't sat down to write....SO happy new year to all my fit family and friends! Last year I wrote about "new year, new you"....this year, I hope to inspire all of you to be clean eaters! The majority of people I work with train hard in the gym....they sweat, they burn, they feel good. But how long do they feel good? Seems like until lunch time or happy hour or dinner time. They worked so hard and then blew it on non-clean eating and drinking. So what are you going to do to change and feel good all the time!? Think before you eat...and drink.
In my opinion, when it comes to alcohol, WINE is the worst possible thing you can drink. Why!?
1: I have personal experience...I used to enjoy a glass of wine every night....what!? Yes every night! So, one 4oz glass of wine is between 110 and 130 calories. Not bad?? Well, I can't tell you the last time I poured 4 oz....more like 8, right? So that's an additional 250 calories to your total caloric intake that day. What if you have two glasses? That's 500 calories! Be aware of what you are drinking.
2: wine is mostly sugar which turns to fat. Ummm don't you wish we could just drink a glass at 8am and have time to burn it off all day? Well, that's not the case sadly for most people which means you enjoy your drink in the evening, before bed. This gives the sugar all night while you lay still to turn to fat. Sad!
3: drinking in general is social. I love being social, but again think before you drink and pick your poison (drink) wisely! In my house, we have eliminated drinking Monday-Friday and just have drinks on the weekends. Give it some thought!
