Hi Fit Fans!
I hope you had a fast and fit Monday! This morning I taught my 45 minute spinning class and then a 15 minute abs class. I love teaching classes...spinning is new to my curriculum, but I have really taken a liking to it. I love how hard everyone works and we all walk out soaking wet! Awesome start to the week and especially at 6am. It really gets you going.
Oh, I was going to talk about Beetlejuice! Ha! Just kidding...not the movie, but BEET juice. Have you heard of it? Have you tried it? Well don't knock it til you try it. After spinning this morning, one of my clients was enjoying a nice cold glass of beet juice, and I approached her asking what brand of protein she was drinking. I had never seen a bright red protein drink, but to my surprise, it was beet juice. After asking her about the texture, the taste and why she was drinking it, she offered me an ice cold glass. Delish! Really! So of course I have done some research and am excited to share with you!
First off, it is a great food/drink for LOWERING blood pressure.
It also is a super food that people don't seem to know about. It will be on the super food list soon!
It's great for exercise because it boosts stamina. It also helps improve blood flow and keep you exercising longer. Awesome!
It improves health of the kidneys and liver.
It is very high in antioxidants and nitrates which is the reason it has such an impact on lowering blood pressure.
It seems to be a new "fad food"! You should try it.....especially if you need to lower your blood pressure.
You can order beet juice online or buy it in your health food store already in drinking or powdered form or you can make your own:
1 large beet
1 pear
3 carrots
1 red apple
1/2 lemon
Cut up all of your ingredients and throw in the juicer.
There are many beet juice recipes, but this is one I have found.
