Good Morning Fit Fans!
I have been meaning to sit down and write for the past few weeks, and things have totally spiraled out of control! It's been a busy few weeks with the holidays, but I am making it my goal (you can hold me accountable!) to write a blog at least once a week!
Today's blog is titled "Pedal to the Finish". You may be wondering what that is, and I am going to tell you! At the health club where I work, we participated in a fundraiser to raise money to help stop cancer! As many of you know, cancer sucks! I have lost far too many people that I love to cancer. My sister lost her battle to cancer in May of 2004, and that was the most traumatic experience I have ever been through. I am hoping and praying that this terrible disease will soon be stopped. You too can help by donating to the cause: www.pedaltothefinish.com/houstonianlite
Our Pedal to the Finish fundraiser was on November 10th, and I taught two spinning classes that day. One was at 6:00am and the other was at noon. I had a great turn out and everyone enjoyed pedaling along to inspiring songs such as "I will Survive" and "Fighter". One lady in my class is a cancer survivor, and I dedicated the class to her! She raised so much money for our fundraiser by reaching out to her friends and family. She is truly an amazing and very strong woman!
I did not preach to my classes or go into too much depth of the losses I have experienced because I wanted to listen to their stories and find out what cancer meant to them. Turns out most stories ended the same with a loss to cancer or the "c" word as Krissi, my sister, would say. Please open up you minds and wallets this holiday season and help those struggling with their cancer battles! And keep on pedaling!
