Hey Fit Readers,
One week away! Can you believe it? Thanksgiving is one week away! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by and how each year just goes by faster and faster. I mentioned just that to my 71 year old personal training client yesterday, and laughing, he said you should see how fast my years go by! Haha so true! Anyways, this Thanksgiving has snuck up on me, and I haven't EVEN registered my family for the Turkey Trot yet! Ahh...it's on my "to-do" list for today!
If you have never done the Turkey Trot, I highly recommend it! It is a fun, healthy way to start your Thanksgiving. Thousands and thousands of people gather (I do the trot in downtown Dallas) on thanksgiving morning to run and walk either a 5k or 8 miles. It is family friendly, dog friendly, non-athlete friendly, athlete friendly, costume friendly, and most of all a great way to get the "eating holiday" off to a calorie burning start! We have done it for the past 6 years and enjoy it every year. I hope you are getting excited about Thanksgiving and will think about joining in your local Thanksgiving morning run or walk!
