Hey Fit Fans
Happy Monday to you and welcome to the first week of our "fall back" time schedule! From what I keep hearing, you would think that this is the first time we have EVER experienced this! Not true, this happens every single year. Yes, it is difficult, it is a change for our bodies, but it's not new. It actually started for America way back in 1945. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the man that got this going during World War II. So, it has in fact been around for quite a while. A little history for ya!
Anyway, as a huge summer and beach person myself, this day light savings time definitely brings an end to my warm days out by the pool. Although I miss my tan, I do enjoy the sun coming up a little earlier and going down a little earlier. What!? Who wants that!? Ok, it finally feels like fall to me when the time changes! Plus, my 6 mile morning run was amazing: started in the dark, saw the sun come up, and finished in the light. For anyone else that gets up at 4:30, you may enjoy the sun coming up a little earlier too! Evenings are my downfall (they always have been because I get up so dang early). When it gets dark, I start to fade, but powering through to your normal bed time is what will get you through the change.
This also works for your kiddos! I made sure to keep fit baby on his same schedule so that his body would adjust to the changes. So far so good! When your kids start to get hungry or sleepy early, keep them busy with activities such as going to the park. It works! Or at least it does for fit baby!
I hope your bodies adjust quickly to the "new" time change! Remember that exercise will give you energy when you are tired. Stay fit friends!
