Hi Foodie Friends!
Better late than never....today I am going to show you the frog I made for Fit Toddler's Halloween party....told you I am late! I was in charge of the fruit platter, so I wanted to get a little creative rather than just dropping a plate of fruit off at school....I know you're surprised! 😂
My mother in law is very creative and has turned watermelons into amazing creations, so I thought I would follow her lead. I text with her getting feedback on cutting styles and knifes to use or not to use. I actually used the carving set we had gotten to use for carving pumpkins which made things simple!
First, I cut the bottom off of a small watermelon. Second, I drew a large mouth with jagged teeth. Third....my handy husband carved the mouth. We then cleaned out the watermelon and cut small pieces. Next, I cut two lime slices for the eyes and cleaned and cut the strawberries..I used toothpicks to hold the limes/eyes and decorated the platter with bright red watermelon and strawberries! Tada!

First, I cut the bottom off of a small watermelon. Second, I drew a large mouth with jagged teeth. Third....my handy husband carved the mouth. We then cleaned out the watermelon and cut small pieces. Next, I cut two lime slices for the eyes and the bottoms of strawberries for the center of the eyes. Then, I used toothpicks to hold the limes/eyes and decorated the platter with bright red watermelon and strawberries! TADA!!
